These lowering links from Performance Design offer a very high quality solution to a tall seat height for your 1996 and later Honda XR250 or XR400 motorcycle. The links are CNC machined from aircraft quality billet aluminum and are solidly engineered. Anodized red and coated with a quality clear they look good after years of use without corrosion. They are a direct bolt-on replacement and include the bearing bushings and seals already in place.
The links will lower the bike anywhere from 1.5" (38mm) to 1.75" (45mm) depending upon how the spring pre-load is set. This height reduction will need to be complimented with a corresponding reduction of height in the front end, typically by raising the forks tubes upwards in the triple clamps. The lowering will not limit rear wheel travel like other links do and this greatly improves handling with a lower ride height.
The Performance Design lowering links come with bushing style bearings installed along with the seals. The bushings are very highly precision machined producing a highly precise finish. The solid bushing style bearing allows greater loads by distributing the forces over a more solid surface with more area than needle bearings offer. The high tolerances mean no slop in the movement resulting in more precise suspension motion. Zirk fittings are installed and allow easy continuous lubrication resulting in many years of trouble free performance.
