Product Description
The Rick's Motorsport's Electrics replacement regulator/rectifier combination unit is designed to replace both the regulator and rectifier on older Honda motorcycles. The regulator/rectifier comes with a OEM style 5 pin connector that plugs into your original wiring harness along with three single wires that will also plug into your OEM harness. Rick's electrical products are the best in the industry and offer a full 1 year warranty, no one else offers a 1 year warranty on their regulator/rectifiers.
Since this unit is designed to replace two original components the combination regulator/rectifier will not have a specific mounting location. Choose a location for mounting that will have good ventilation and away from road debris. The 5-pin connector will plug into the OEM wiring harness in place of the original regulator connector. The three single wires will plug into the harness in place of the rectifier according to color code, see below.
- Black > any 12V source that is hot after the ignition switch is turned on
- Green > green field coil wire
- White > white field coil wire
The regulator/rectifier combination unit device will fit ALL of the following models:
- CB350F Supersport 1972-1974
- CB400F Supersport 1975-1977
- CB500K 1971-1978
- CB550 1978
- CB550K 1974-1978
- CB550F 1975-1977
- CB750A Automatic 1976-1978
- CB750F Supersport 1975-1978
- CB750K 1969-1978
Please Note: On earlier CB500 Four's there will be a slight modification required. The plug on the regulator/rectifier combination unit must be changed to the flat style pins or the unit must be hard wired into your wiring harness according to color code. Please contact us if further assistance is required.
Please do the following BEFORE installing a Rectifier/Regulator
- Check the AC output of the stator
- Check that the stator is not grounded
- Replace any burned or corroded connectors on stator & rec/reg
- Check & repair any melted wiring
- Use hi-Temp Dielectric grease on all connectors
