The Mikuni TM series flat slide carburetors provide a significant improvement over OEM round slide and CV type carburetors.  The flat slide and venturi designs allow smoother airflow and higher velocities thereby increasing the pressure differential at the needle jet.  This efficient design allows better atomization which enhances throttle response and power output.  

The Mikuni TM40 pumper carburetor kits from the Power-Barn are easy bolt-on horsepower for ALL XR650R's.  The kits are suited for mild to modified motors and come pre-jetted for immediate bolt-on installation.  They are designed to utilize the stock air box and intake manifolds and also work with the OEM throttle assembly.  ALL of the following components are included with each kit:

• Mikuni TM40 pre-jetted flat slide pumper carburetor
• Airbox and spigot adapters are already installed

• Optional oversize throttle cable set available for extended or oversize bars

This kit is suited for mild to modified motors and will come pre-jetted for immediate bolt on installation.  The TM40's from the Power-Barn have been carefully developed over the years to be equipped with the optimum jetting settings upon delivery, however some fine tuning may be required to attain the desired combination of performance, fuel mileage, and drivability based upon your particular environment settings.  Please don't forget to specify your motorcycle modifications and riding environments.  Alternatively, kits can be built utilizing your own jetting specifications.  Additional genuine Mikuni jetting parts and accessories are always available at low prices.

The carburetor can be equipped with either a choke knob or a 12" choke cable extension.  If you have, or are planning on installing, an oversize fuel tank then you must purchase the 12" choke cable option.  There is no additional charge for the choke cable option.  Alternatively, the choke cable kit can be purchased separately or in addition to the choke knob.  In addition if you have a steering damper, extended bars, or oversize bars then you will likely need the extended throttle cables.  Make your selection above before adding to your cart.

Additional air filter options are available, select your option now before adding to your cart.  You can add either a K&N HA-6500 high performance air filter or a UNI NU-4130ST high flow air filter.

It has come to our attention that some "other" retailers may be selling these kits incomplete. They don't include all the necessary items for a successful installation and that forces you to buy more items, possibly at a higher cost. These kits from The Power-Barn are 100% COMPLETE, you will need nothing else for installation or tuning.
