The Mikuni HSR42 flatslide carburetor delivers extremely crisp throttle response while providing an unrestricted bore for maximum flow.  Maximum flow allows your engine to reach its full potential so you can accelerate and pass with confidence.  An HSR42 carburetor kit bolted onto a standard Harley Twin Cam used with a Screamin' Eagle air cleaner will ADD 25% more horsepower over stock.  Maximum horsepower is increased from 57.8HP to 72.2HP and torque increase from 71.4 ft.lbs. to 80.7 ft.lbs.  You can expect similar gains with your Evo motor.

NOTE :  This kit uses the OEM stock throttle cables.  Models from 1984-1989 will require additional throttle cables from the 1990-1995 model years.  If you have a 1984-1989 model then select the throttle cable option above, this is MANDATORY for proper fitment.  Throttle cable option will include a Barnett "Smooth Glide" throttle cable and idle cable to fit the HSR42 carburetor that works with the OEM Harley throttle assembly.

FLT models from 1984-1989 may have gas tank interference.  If you have the 5.5 gallon large OEM fuel tank then you may have fitment problems.  Please inquire if you are unsure.

Please note:  The 1984-1989 models require the additional manifold flanges because of their different manifold design.  Please select the 1984-1989 model option above to ensure you get the proper flanges. 

Premium intake manifold seals and flanges (if needed) ARE included with this kit.  No one else provides seals or flanges with these kits.

This carb kit comes pre-jetted for immediate installation.  It is designed to work with the OEM throttle cables (1990-1999 models) and choke cable.  Tuning and performance specs have been developed over the years to suit a wide variety of conditions, however some fine tuning may be required to attain the desired combination of performance, fuel mileage, and drivability.  Extra main jets are included for tuning and additional genuine Mikuni parts and accessories are always available at low prices.  Alternatively kits can be customized utilizing your own jetting specifications.
